Quiet neighborhood among rolling hills of East County

Granite Hills is a quiet community tucked away just east of the city of El Cajon. Bordering Interstate 8 to the north (also known as Kumeyaay Highway), the 54/Jamacha Road to the west and the community of Crest to the east, this semi-private neighborhood could be considered the Rancho Santa Fe of El Cajon. With an area of approximately 2.9 square miles, the community surely gets its name from the rolling rocks that peek out from the green hills. El Cajon is Spanish for "the box," relating to it being surrounded by mountains in a nestled valley.
